What it’s about
With our new crowdfunding campaign, we want to enable ocelot.social networks and their users to reach a wider audience. Authors should be able to choose whether their posts may also be seen by visitors who are not logged in. A draft mode will also improve the experience for authors.
This builds on our last crowdfunding campaign, which — thanks to generous donations from our community — made Group Chat Rooms possible, now available to all users.
Public Content
Until now, posts could only be seen by members.
The goal of this crowdfunding is to increase the reach of posts and thereby also raise the profile of networks using ocelot.social software.
The following features are planned:
- Users can choose whether their post is visible only within the network or publicly (outside the network).
- Group owners can choose which members may make their posts visible outside the group.
- Posts are optimized for search engines.
- Visitors who are not logged in are invited to sign in or register when they cannot access content.
- Operators can manage both the visibility of posts and comments as well as the access rights of visitors who are not logged in.
Draft Mode
Currently, unfinished posts cannot be saved as drafts.
This crowdfunding aims to make it possible to save posts as drafts and edit them again. This also serves as preparation for posts to be published on a scheduled basis in the future.
Why a crowdfunding?
busFaktor() e.V., the organization behind the free open-source software ocelot.social, is a non-profit. Since it has no commercial interests, the further development of the software is financed solely through volunteer work, donations, membership fees, and contracts from the operators of ocelot.social networks to freelance developers. This includes donations from you.
